The Poson Celebration will be held at 25 June 2017 (Sunday). Poson is a festival celebrated in Sri Lanka on the full moon day in June. Poson Poya is an important Buddhist celebration in the Sri Lankan tradition. It celebrates the day on which Emperor Asoka's son, Arahant Mahinda, is said to have introduced Buddhism to the island in the 3rd century B.C.
Venerable Manakadure Pannasara Thero from Sri Lanka, Venerable Seegirite Samiththa Thero and Venerable Professor K L Dhammajoti will be speaking in the ceremony during the day.
