We are pleased to announce that Professor Wasantha Priyadarshana has been appointed as Visiting Professor at The Buddha-Dharma Centre of Hong Kong since January 2017. Prof. Wasantha obtained his PhD from University of Kelaniya in 2008 with a dissertation untitled “Buddhist Therapy of Mental Disease” (A Study of Psychoanalysis and Behaviour Therapy as Depicted from Tipitaka Literature).

Venerable Professor K L Dhammajoti has been appointed as Chair Professor at School of Philosophy, Renmin University of China since 2016. He has just delivered a series of lecture on Sarvāstivāda Abhidharma during October – December 2016. He will be delivering another of series of lectures again at Renmin University of China later this year.
GOOD NEWS for those interested in learning Buddhist Sanskrit!
This introductory course is meant for the ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS. Students will be introduced to the Sanskrit Devanagari alphabets and basic Sanskrit grammar required for reading simple Buddhist passages.
The focus of this course will be to familiarize students with the basic Buddhist terminologies and simple sentences in the Buddhist Sanskrit Sūtras. At the end of the course, students are expected to be able to read simple Sanskrit passages.
